OK, so I re4ally am alive. I did fine in all my courses, better than I expected in some -- things are looking good on the getting-into-BFA-honours front, which is full of CASBAH ROCKAGE.
I am pretty glad to be back in Vancouver. I start my new classes on Tuesday [VISA210, digital art from 2pm-5pm ... with the hard marking teacher I had last year, but I'll get to know her better so that'll be a plus]. On Thursday the 11th I'll have VISA260 from 9:30am-12:30pm, which is sculpture. I've met the teacher once, and he was really nice to me (I was asking him to cut me pieces of wood to back some lino cuts so I could use them with the letter press). It's not something I've had a lot of opportunity to do before so hopefully it will be really cool. The studio is a workshop, so at any rate I will get to learn fun power tools. And on Friday I'll have VISA320 (9am-12pm) and VISA321 (2pm-5pm), which are drawing classes, one is technical / conceptual and one is self directed. I am looking forward to it, and after the end of January I'm not going to have to work any more (HUZZAH) so hopefully I'll have enough time to do cool stuff for those classes.
I am opening photoshop to save some of my prints for web, and maybe get together my zine. Ryan bought me some ram so it opened all freaking nice and fast. Sexy.
OK, I have some art to post, so here you go:

( Variations On The Fall of Man )

( Study 1 for Variations on the Fall of Man )

( Study 2 for Variations on the Fall of Man )

( Study 3 for Variations on the Fall of Man )

( Fish )

( Goldfish )

( House )

( Valences )

( Willows )

( Valences )
So there's some of the art I've done recently that hasn't really gotten posted anywhere. I am tempted to start drawing bellatrix black again because she's freaking HELENA BONHAM CARTER. Also, have decided that Deahthly Hallows tells us nothing other than "this book involves the horcruxes. They were important and founder related [no!]". Am waiting to get wind of further info.
Christmas was well ... it started off wonderful, and I got an INSANE haul of presents which I am not used to. My family is very practical about presents and you get what you ask for, which works out really well. Ryan's family will buy you random things, listening to what you say all year to figure out what you want. And instead of just asking for stuff from my family this year, I gave them a list of stuff to pick and choose from. So I got: 2 shirts, one sweater, one hoodie. The Pride and Prejudice DVD set [YESSSS]. A thermos, a magazine, chocolate. Shirt that turned into makeup brushes, pants that turned into a present for Ryan because they gave me cash, but will probably go towards more clothes for job interviews and just because I don't have tons. Money. Socks. Underwear. Fugitives and Refugees. Traffic, Bonnie & Clyde, In the Heat of the Night, Vertigo, Seven, A Fish Called Wanda. Freaking an 88 colour makeup pallet. Black jeans, the ram, a USB portable hardware firewall for use with unsecured wireless networks. Some art paper and awesome set of pencils, which will come hugely in handy in my art class! A lot of bath accessories, some sephora goodies, and some beautiful ornaments. o.O.
Ryan came down to Cincinnati this year, and my family is ... well they don't talk much, except one of my cousins, and my grandmother is a mean old lady. Who has emphysema. He didn't like ti, and he missed Christmas with his folks, but I'm really glad he came, and he got to see all the cool stuff in Cincinnati, like Aglamesis. We walked for ages around the art museum, which was having a show about the Pre-Raphaelites, who are irritating in the extreme, to the extent that I hate them.
I have to start writing up applications for Co-Op jobs, which I will hate but I guess I'll get used to it. Wish me luck. The problem is both jobs that have been posted so far, well, I can't really do them. Kind of weird. Anyway.
